Father’s Day, birthdays and anniversaries are not the only times a man should be showered with gifts and extra attention; sometimes sending a gift basket “just because” makes him feel extra appreciated and loved. When it comes to choosing a gift basket for a man, focus on his interests, hobbies or favorite pastimes and you can do no wrong. Below are a few suggestions of themes to be on the lookout for, as well as some of the included items you may find:

Fishing Fanatics

Let’s face it; even if the main man in your life rarely catches the prize-winning bass, he still deserves a few extra gadgets to at least increase his chances. There are two different types of fishing-themed gift baskets to pay attention to: snack-oriented and equipment-oriented. You either want to give him the fuel needed to keep on going or you’ll want to provide him with the necessary tools to achieve his fishing goals. A gift basket filled with beef jerky, cheese, crackers, sausage, smoked salmon and other snacks are great treats for a fisherman. A basket offering hooks, sinkers, bobbers and other fishing tackle items will also impress.

The Grill Master

Does your man of the house consider himself the “grill master” when it comes to having a BBQ? A gift basket featuring some of the grilling essentials may be your best bet. Some baskets are more utensil-oriented, offering basting brushes, an apron, tongs and oven mitts, while others focus on boosting the flavor of a meal. A basket containing various barbeque sauces, marinades, glazes and seasonings is always welcome.

Sports Enthusiast

Do you know someone who is glued to the television every baseball, basketball or football season? Does the man in your life wear the sweatshirt, pants, hat and…boxers of his favorite team on game day? Then, you can’t go wrong with a sports-themed gift basket. This can be accomplished in two different ways. The most obvious gift basket features signature-logo items from his favorite team. Another option involves a snack basket for game day, which is filled with items, such as cheese, crackers, popcorn, beef jerky, Slim-Jims, peanuts, pretzels, salami and beer. For an extra touch, make sure the basket is wrapped with ribbon corresponding with the same colors as his favorite team. For golfers, choose a themed basket offering ball markers, golf balls, gloves, towels and wooden golf tees.

Elegant Gourmet

Perhaps your man is somewhat a connoisseur of fine foods. He may appreciate a gift basket filled with the biscotti, caviar, champagne, truffles, and/or wine. Other suggestions include gourmet items, such as cappuccino, chocolate, tea, popcorn, and nuts.
